(3) Firewood supplies for the Hong Kong Government.

It was explained that the Colonial Office were in consultation with the Treasury regarding the payment of the amounts set out in the Governor of North Borneo's cable of 9th January as being due in connection with firewood supplied to the Hong Kong Government.

Mr. Pidgeon undertook to discover from the North Borneo Trading Company whether they had actually made any disbursements in connection with the stocks of firewood referred to in (iii) and (iv) in the memorandum, and what were the terms of their agreement with the Hong Kong Government regarding payment.
